Does anyone else use Skype voice to call cell phones internationally.  My daughters internet is frequently down and her cell phone is the only option.  using Skype is cheaper and I have a plan that automatically updates my account so my calls are not dropped.

I personally don’t use it not for a specific reason I just don’t need it right now, but my friend does use Skype voice to call me or other friends from other countries, and I do agree it’s cheaper.

Skype is severely competed by affordable local networks such as Lycamobile in Europe. Search for a similar solution in your area. It’s a prepaid service that you use only to call another customer in the same network

I still like Skype when its available, as you can get lost trying all the different choices.  I may save a little money but how much time did I waste, researching different services and setting them up.

Absolutely a best system to talk one to another country cheaper by skype.
My friends who lives in France call me using skype anytime. By this we can talk long time & can saw each other. But for video call net speed should be high what’s lack I feel in my country!

Calling by skype to abroad is easier sytem than calling by costly phone call.
There is also great system that I can see my caller person & talk nicely feeling or seeing his/her expression.
No doubt about that using skype is cheap for calling internationals phone calls!

Now we have 3G so no doubt that you have to select a 3G package with minimum 512kbps speed. Then there should be no problem to use skype & making video calls by skype.

We have a Skype phone in the house. We buy credits for our Skype account but we only use it rarely, like calling my family in the Philippines in case there’s an emergency and they can’t connect online. It’s still very handy if you don’t have any other option.

Skype and Google Voice are my go to methods for international calling. To be frank though I prefer making app to app calls when possible so that I don’t have to pay per minute. That way I can use data plan and that often is cheaper for me.

For the moment, in Europe, we have to get satisfied with Skype, Google Voice wasn`t introduced yet

As I noticed its performance in USA, it`s likely that a lot of Europeans to change Skype for Google Voice, if it`s cheaper and more stable

Another old thread I thought I’d revive.

Google Voice or Skype – which is better for international calls?
