Based on the Linux kernel, Android is a mobile operating system that was invented by Open Handset Alliance and Google. Currently, Google is the sole developer of the OS. Its user interface is dependent on direct manipulation and is Open Source software. It was first released in 28th September, 2008 and the current version of the softer is Android Lollipop.
